KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 14.15 g, 4 h), Pella, struck under Antipater, Polyperchon, or Kassander, circa 323/2-316/5. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Young jockey, holding palm frond in his right hand and reins in his left, riding horse to right; below horse, coiled serpent right; below left foreleg, Boiotian shield. Le Rider 529 (D281/R433). Darkly toned. Struck slightly off center and with a test cut on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
